Resolutions
Resolution plays an important role in the world of the world of film and video production. The higher the resolution, the better.
The image resolution measures the image size of a rasterized graphic. It is displayed by the total amount of image points (called pixels) or by the width and height. Here is a list of all popular video resolutions.
SD (Standard Definition):
- For NTSC = 720x480 pixels
- For PAL = 720x576 pixels
HD (High Definition):
- For HDV = 1440x1080 pixels
- For HD (720p oder 720i) = 1280x720 pixels
- For HD (1080p oder 1080i) = 1920x1080 pixels
UHD (Ultra High Definition):
- Für UHD = 3840 × 2160 pixels
2K/4K (Digital Cinema) for feature films:
- For 2K = 2048x1080 pixels
- For 4K = 4096x2160 pixels
